Hey all,
Just wanted to share how we've been playing Tecmo Super Bowl III on SNES all these years (in our 18th season) and still believe it is the best football game ever. WHAT WE DO: We have 5 players and each of us picks a team from each of the 6 divisions. However we don't "play". We coach. We've found the coaching mode to be the most satisfying and competitive way to play the game. It's unbelievable how far we've come in figuring out what plays work and what plays don't, building a good playbook, and getting into the mind game of Tecmo bowl with audibles and fakes. Why exactly is coaching so cool? 1) Any newbie can come in and be competitive. 2) Less mashing, more thinking. 3) Building a complete team becomes more important than getting a few freak players to use. So, does this version have a "coaching" mode? |

TRICKS OF THE TRADE:
Don't know if these still apply to the new Tecmo, but in TSB III, here are some things we learned while coaching all these years.... 1) T-formation run up the middle give the RB freak power and speed. It's a glitch that works great for power RBs. 2) If you have your second RB with runplays in your playbook, make sure he isn't a white guy (or not a different color skin than your regular RB). If we saw a white guy in your backfield, we could easily figure out which play you picked and could audible and manipulate you. 3) If you kick a FG in the middle of the hash marks, you almost always made it. Does this still work? |
