1) How exactly do friend codes work? I have everyone entered, but how do you know if someone is online to play? Only two people on the list show a number under the WF rating and I invited them a couple times but it just stays on the initiating invitation or whatever and does nothing.

2) Do you guys get a lot of "communication errors" and such when it seems like it finally auto matched you with someone? This is when it actually goes to the team select screen after you choose your team.

3) Still can't use the team (ATL) I want to use and had been using until it said I need to choose a different team or player name... So I started playing GB and it was fine, but the next day I couldn't use it as it said the same thing- I have to choose a different team or player name. If someone at Tecmo looks at these forums it would be nice to know what's going on seeing as it works one day, and the next it doesn't.

1) friend codes work like this. both ppl have to add each others friend codes, then go online after doing so. if both did, then their rating should show next to their name now. now if one person adds someone but that other guy dosent, then your friend roster would never update it with his rating cuz both ppl have to add eachother for it to work.

2) not many no...it does happen about 20% of the time though..for me at least. i'm not sure what happens when you get a comunication error then...might just be what it says...a communication error occured, lol.

3)hmm...this is just a hunch but maybe its saying that to ppl because their stats on their teams are too high. maybe the tecmo ppl been trying to get the hackers off the game...like the ppl who have teams who have max stats and such and like 10000 points on a team. and if they did that..maybe they have some limit..like if anyone is over..uh...8200(random number), then its not gonna let you play with that team. i dunno...thats just a hunch. my highest team is 8060 and i've been fine for the last 2 days

ShannDogg you and DH are the only ones I have actually seen online when I am on. When I go to the friends page there will be green bars next to your name on the left. I assume that means that your online. Sometimes there will be green bars with a red ball in the middle. I think that means that you are currently playing a game. I did however try to invite you into a game and it took forever and then the dreaded "Communication Error" appeared.

I am not sure how games get matched though. I guess it's just random and whomever is on just gets picked up.

I think if you quit a game then you should be charged a loss because I think people are just outright quitting when I am head and I am currently stuck in 6th place with my wi-fi points.

Thanks for letting me know about the friends codes. I think that makes sense as the two of you came up with your WF rating, but I haven't seen any of the green bars. I must have been looking at it when you guys are off.

As for not letting you use teams online, I first used Atlanta and it had 8100 pts and now it won't let me use them. I then used Green Bay with 8060, and now it won't let me use them. So lately I have been using random teams from 5300 to 7100 pts and none of them have given me the warning. It's really annoying.

Does applying special skills (like the running back power run, or QB rocket pass) increase your overall skill points? I was trying to figure out why my Atlanta team had around a hundred more then other teams that would get up to 8060 and the only difference I can see is I added one or two special skills to the team.

@ DK - yea the green bars next to a name means their online but currently not playing a game. the green bars with a red ball on it means their either searching for a game on random or is currently in a game. when you see this orange thing that means that person on your list is hosting a game. one of the bad things about this game though is it dosent send notifications when you invite someone...so the only way they could know you were hosting a game s if they happened to check their friend roster and see you. thats probably why you kept getting connection errors...because you had the game up for too long and the other person never saw it.
if you host a game, only ppl on your friend roster can join. when you search under auto-match, it just matches you up randomly with anyone else who happened to be searching at the time too...no matter if their on your friend roster or not.
about the quitting thing...its pretty common in the nintendo online games. in some of the games they made they penalize you for quitting and in others they dont. tecmo happened to be one of those donts sadly -_-

hmm...i never rly thought about that before...i was wondering how ppl were able to get like 8300 when i couldnt only get up to 8060. i just tested the special skills thing and it actually does add 20 skill points to your overall total. you must of had like 2 special skills on all your play makers shann, dam, lol o_o.

I saw shanndogg the other night online with the red ball. I will be keeping an eye out.

Weird because it blocked my Titans from getting on and they are at 7400 .___. One I first got the error, i thought that they were blocking teams that have real team names and rosters...But it didnt block my Ravens or Eagles so idk ._.


For the points thing I suppose if you want to raise your points higher than 8300 and stuff like that, you would have to use all the points for everyone including backups...thats what i think, I didnt try it yet. And lower you would do the opposite, make the backups stats to zero, i probably try it out ._.

For the friends list thing, i dont see anything for DH ._., no bars, and it says his wifi rate is 0 >_> meh ._. I used to see that before my data got erased, but now ._.

maybe thats why its not letting ppl use certain teams...maybe cuz they have tecmo jo on theirs? lol. i've only had that error message where it says your team cant be used one day...but otherwise i've been fine...maybe its cuz i dont use tecmo jo..i dont know...

nah DK...anyone with 12,000 somethin points uses an Action Replay to get max stats and crap. in other words they cheat to do it. most 9000's probabaly use an action replay too...cuz i see no sense in puttin skill points into your defensive players..and thats the only way to get to 9000..maybe..dont feel like doin the math now, lol. but yea...anyone 9000 and up are probbaly using an Action Replay to cheat and such

nah actually you stop getting skill points after the 5th season so you shouldnt beable to get highter then the 8000's anyway.

eh..online been sorta dull lately...keep finding 5000 ppl...and they usually disconnect on me since my defense make their O line look like paper x_x

i've been disconnected on a few times. only one real good game that I won that didn't get dc'd on. I stopped playing madden because of all the quitters. Guess it's just a part of 90% of the gamers code nowadays (to quit).

Tecmo should have put in a way to see who you are playing before you pick your team. I mean if I know I am playing against somebody who picks a regular team with 5,000 or 6,000 points then I would use a team with similar point totals. But when I play the good guys like DH, Wolf, and ShannDogg, I would bring out my really good games.

Right now everyone is quitting on me. My defense is to superior and there is no way to call them off against lesser foes. Most times on offense I just punt over and over again once my defense scores 10 to 14 points.

yea it would be nice if we knew who we were playing at least... . they shoulda had like some sort of star system,...like when you find someone..instead of going directly toward your teams, it displays your name first. while it's showing the name, it'll have 5 star slots under it representing how many super bowls you have won. if you have won 5 already then you would have 5 stars...but if you only did like 2 superbowls then that person wouldd only have 2 stars. it would of been alot easier to tell someones skill that way..cuz like detroit kid said...i'm getting disconnected on like 80% of the time now cuz my defense is too strong and demokishes the lesser point teams

I won super bowl last night with over 5,000 L points so I got 2 super ability skill points. My team was 8080 before I added the 2 skill points and now its 8120. So I guess each super ability is worth either 20 points. It could also be that certain super abilities give you more or less than others.

This very issue is why it may be better to set up and directly play each other with the friend code games. If we do that we can set up ahead of time what point teams to use so we have a fair game.

Detroitkid: If someone starts punting on me with an over powered team that is just going to make me angry and it seems like you are just toying with them. Your intention may not be that but without being able to talk to the person on the other end it is likely not making them happy. I should know, about 2 weeks ago you did that to me and I was getting pretty mad.

yea i hate when people do that onside kick crap over and over again when they have super players that can get it like almost all the time, even when their winning..that kinda ****es me off. my players are fast too yes so i do have a good chance of getting an onside kick, however i only onside kick when i'm down in a game..like if it's 21-7 or something. i dont be onside kicking the ball when i'm up like 24-21..that just shows your too scared the other person is gonna score and you have no faith in your defense.

made a 6000 team yesterday since all my other teams my defenses are too strong for the lower point 5000 people...so hopefully this new 6000 team will keep people from disconnecting on me early in the game <_<

Whenever I see someone online and try to invite them it never works. Even when they have all green bars and no red ball. The game just sits and nothing happens. The only way I can tell who I am playing is usually by the teams. Funny thing is I happened to bump into say the New York HardNocks and if I don't have the right team I will get destroyed. So, at the team screen I have to shutoff my ds since the cancel function doesn't seem to work and when I reboot I pick one of my good teams and then I play the New York HardNocks. It's really annoying though because when I play lesser comp. I try to pick a lesser team. But sometimes the matchup is just off.
