First of all, since WHEN HAS THE COMPUTER EVER GONE FOR TWO? O_o????!!!! I have NEVERRRR come across that until tonight!! Let me backtrack though.
Like everyone else, im disappointed with the difficulty in this game. So i decided tonight, to go for a challenge. After messing around a bit, i finally found some good settings for myself. With every stat, the max could only be 55. After Editing a team with the Max Stat 55, i decided to try my luck against my San Diego Chargers, my best team.
Halfway through this game, i knew i had gotten into a dogfight with my favorite team. The score was 7-7 at half time, and i was getting the ball back. Well i drove down the drove down the field some, but ended turning the ball over on an interception. The computer worked its way downfield stuffing the ball down my throat and makig unbelievable, old school Tecmo receptions - triple coverage catches. 1st and goal, the computer runs and i stuff him. 2nd and goal same thing. 3rd and goal, computer runs it in. I choose the fourth man down and run in and luckily dive and block it.
At this point, im thinking ive got this game in the bag. I go down the field scoring making it 13-14. Its fourth quarter and i get the ball back through and interception. I take the ball downfield and score. 13-21. Im feeling good about my close victory at this point.
I kickoff and the computer takes it to the 10ish yard line. On 2nd down the computer runs a draw play and i am blown off him by one guy and BAM, 90 yard touchdown run. At this point is where i become shocked. After scoring the TD the game DID NOT go to the extra point screen. I froze for about 2 seconds before i realized what this meant. For the first time ever, computer was going for 2 against me. Ive never lost to the computer in this game so i started panicking. He chose the draw play agaim which luckily i stuffed. 21-19. With my modified kickoff team, he kicks off.... And gets the ball back. Yeah. Uh oh. 34 seconds left i put in the pitch play. I was not about to get beaten by the run. His pass was incomplete leaving 11 seconds left. I callex the Hail Mary type play, and so did he, thus the game ending with an incomplete pass.

All i have to say is WOW, what a 21-19 win. And now Tecmo'ers, i challenge you. Can YOU beat your best team with another team and only having 55 points allowed max in each stat? Leave Responses below, I cannot WAIT, to get a real season going with this team

Just thought id update on my progress. I am on week 11, and ive already got used to thr difficulty of this level. So at the start of the game, my team will only max 50 points in each stat.

Yeah, although i got rocked in one game, im still winning convincingly. Bring on the Challenge

First: I have had the computer go for 2 one time in a game...just a preseason I think. It's wierd that it did that one time, but I have had many times when the computer should have gone for two, like being behind 8 in the 4th, and it did not.

Second: I played my 6000 pt. team in a season and finished 12-4. I lost the game before the Tecmo bowl. Then, I played again and went 14-2 and won the Tecmo bowl.

It is sad. This game could have been really good if the computer was a much tougher opponant. I downloaded the original Tecmo Bowl on the Wii and I could not believe how fast the game was played compared to Tecmo Kickoff. And the computer always threw to the open receiver. I can barely get that to happen when I play the computer in kickoff. Online play - as flawed as it is - has been the most exciting thing about Kickoff.
