Matched the Detroit Drive with my St. Augustine Lions. Having learned the strategy from the Detroit Kid and being pushed to the max by Striker, it finally resulted in a win against the best team in Tecmo Bowl Kickoff.

After going up 21-0, the Drive's Barry Sanders took it to the house with seconds to go in the first half to make it 21-7. Then the Drive took a time consuming drive that ate up the entire 3rd quarter. With 4th down and goal at the one, the Drive went for it and their RB was stopped at the one. After moving the ball out for better field position and punting, the Drive turned it over inside the 30 yard line. Next play Ward hits Vanover for a TD to put the game away. A safety made it 30-7, the final score.

Great game, Detroit. Thanks for the opportunity and looking forward to more matchups!

Yeah Tim extremely good game from you!!! You have improved greatly!!! I was a little rusty but that's not an excuse you whipped me pretty good.

It's good to be back online though.

Like I said, I tried to put some of the things I observed in your style (including the all gold uniforms Smiler ) into practice. Too, Striker and whoever this guy who has the Denver Broncos team, have really been great opponents.

Finally, I figured out what I was doing on PAT's and FG's as well as selecting players.

And, I am sure some of it was rust. Just glad you are back and hopefully we can get some good online matches with some of the others going again. Take care!

Played two games against a much-improved NJ Strikers team.

The first game matched my St. Augustine Lions against the Strikers, with the Strikers winning 7-6. I could not solve the Striker Defense. I missed a two point conversion and then a last-second FG, which was the difference in the game.

I brought out my Carolina team for the second game. After leading 7-0 at the half, the offenses got going. Trailing 21-6, Striker had an incredible 49 yard completion to get inside the red zone, which was perfectly covered. He scored and made a 2 pt. PAT to make the score 21-14. A failed onside kick led to a late score, and then a safety made the final 30-14, Huskies.

Striker, great games! Enjoyed both. Take care!

Record: 64-21.

Too, I figured out how the online ranking points works. If you win, you get 5 percent of your opponents total points. If you lose, you lose 5 percent of your total points. So, the higher ranked you are, the more you stand to lose. Matching up against higher ranked opponents gives you the opportunity to move up higher if you win.

I was just fishing for a game and matched my Lions against an unaltered PHX Horntoads team. My little boy, who is six, wanted to play. He was ahead 24-0 at the end of the 1st Q when the other guy quit!

Matched up against the NJ Strikers with the St. Augustine Lions. Got a little vindication with a 20-6 win over the Strikers. However, I trailed 6-3 heading into the 4th. Before scoring 17 in the 4th, my Lions had only 9 total points in the last 7 quarters.

Striker, great game...whatever adjustments you have made are paying off.

Record: 65-21

Thanks Tim.
I have been working hard on adjusting my team and I do feel it's starting to pay off. One thing I did was put my tecmo joe back on defense (Peek A Boo) I was using tecmo joe as (J mustang) which improved my offence greatly but my defence went down hill big time. I have also been going through seasons again and this time adding the special ability points to my defence. helps I guess?
Any way I am trying to figure out how to gain skill points again. (without cheating with action replay)
take care Tim,

Brought out my Carolina Huskies to face the NJ Strikers. I went out to 14-0 lead pretty quick with a couple of long runs. However, that was it from my offense. I had 6 total yards in the second half! My defense was bend but don't break. I held off several of Striker's opportunities and held on for a 14-9 win. Great game, Striker. Your team and strategy is much harder to figure.

Record: 67-21

Striker, again a great game last night. You were dominating the first half until the fumbled punt return late in the 2nd quarter. I must admit that I am baffled at the number of turnovers you have had on punt and kickoff returns. It has been more than your fair share.

St. Augustine Lions 14, NJ Strikers 7

Record: 68-21

Played two matches against Striker, one Monday and the other last night.

Monday Night: Carolina Huskies 29, NJ Strikers 12. The odd thing about this game is that I was outgained 230 yards to 80 yards.

Tuesday Night: Huskies 38, Strikers 0

Record: 70-21

Played two games late last night against a newcomer, I think. He had a Baltimore Ravens team in the 5500 point range. Played two games that were a little overmatched, but I appreciate you finishing games and look forward to you increasing the strength of your team.

Game 1: St. Augustine Lions 79, Baltimore Ravens 0. Most of my points came off of turnovers. Did not mean to run up the score, but I kept thinking this guy would quit. Thank you for finishing the game! I had more points (51) at the half than total yards (49).

Game 2: Durham Iron Dukes 26, Baltimore 6. My Durham team has only 5590 pts. The score was only 5-0 at the half but a few turnovers led to three TD's in the 3rd. Great game, especially the first half.

However, you cannot make a FG outside your opponent's 40-45 yd. line, no matter how close the screen makes it look.

Record: 72-21

Matched up against Striker in what turned out to be one of the toughest ways to lose a game. After a tough regulation we entered OT tied 15-15. I kicked off and Striker's return man fumbled on the 5 and my cover man picked it up and ran it in for the game winning score.

Carolina Huskies 21, NJ Strikers 15 in OT

Record: 73-21

Striker, I noticed that you had gone up 400 pts. Who have you run into online? I will be offline for over a week while on vacation. Take care...I have enjoyed the matches but I hated the way this one turned out for you. You are a great opponent.

I just took out Striker and his New Jersey team 14-0.

Hey Striker, your team was 8380 and mine was in the 7600 range and you definitely took the game lightly!!!! You onside kicked by mistake I guess and then punted once you recovered. Your play early was very lax especially with your qb and play calling.

You tried to toy with me early thinking that if you blew me out that I would probably quit....well I knew exactly what you were doing because I have done it plenty of times myself!!!! LOL.

I am sure you did not know it was me, but next time don't take it easy on DetroitKid33 baby!!!!

I would love to play you with any lower level teams if you have any like say 5800 to 7000 range. Holler at me with a personal message.
