Observing Tekken on Wii U with the ability to use the touch screen with customization was unbelievable! Not only is Dead or Alive 5 coming to all 3 next gen consoles, however DOA5 might just have a costum edit to the game. It might not be a complete Create your Character from scratch. But editing parts for DOA characters might just be accessible in DOA 5. Judging from DOA Dimenions as Team NINJA do had the chance to allow players to customise the character's costume, I would says Team NINJA would not go to that route, or Tekken route. The ability to Create a Character I feel is garbage, not worth the time and a complete waste of time. Its because the Create a Character was not executed correctly in games and I could say it was executed well in Soul Calibur 3. Why the hell would a developer spend half their time developing characters and building characters for players to use and then you give gamers the option to create their character...seriously WTF? i have a good fighting game idea in my head and I know how to put the Create a character to good use. Its like going to a newly opened pizza shop, you'v never tasted any of their servings as there are loads to choose from. Under the menu says "if you can't choose, create your own pizza and toppings". I think that is retarded man. Its good to have an option that allows people to get what they want and how they want it to be, however it just defeats the purpose of having a preset that consumed time to develop. Part of being in the gaming industry is to observe your competitors and learn ways to come out on top. So far Mortal Kombat has copied features from other Fighting game that eventually allowed it to be the Best Fighter Game in 2011. Dead or Alive hasn't copied other fighting game features however it did use the Special Guest character selling tool. DOA Dimensions had a chance to come up with new things, it did with the immersive storymode just like how MK9 did. But is that all? Collecting costumes and using them are cool however Tekken is the only game that puts collecting and changing outfits to good use. I haven't played any Tekken game since Tekken 3. I was going to go back on it for Tekken 6 but that was a failure man. But I like the ability to equip sun glasses or cowboy hats with a certain costume in Tekken 4 and over. It makes it worth equipping these costumes. Now the ability to use the Wii U Controller to draw paints and tattoo on your character is INSANE and off the hook! Imagine if DOA5 has this function? Imagine just giving Christie a tattoo makeover. Or painting the face of Hayabusa to your likings? I mean allowing players to equip different sets and props in fighting games might be a gimmick however if they are put to good use then it would be worth it to include them. Soul Calibur 4 as I can say, if you equip different pieces to your character, it triggers how they plays and move. I haven't playd Tekken so I do not know if equipping props might trigger the character's action or just there for props. The latest Tekken game, I think Tag Tournament 2 seems to boast a lot of pieces and props for character, and I believe they are a complete waste of time if they do not give additional support to the character/player other than looks. I would vouch for this idea if DOA 5 uses the ability to equip props and pieces to a character unless it enhances the play style. We can say equipping Sun glasses will trigger the character's status: Cool. And this status will grant the ability to regenerate. or Wearing a Hat will trigger the status: Heatwave. This status will allow the player once knocked down to instantly get back up without delay. One more example can be wearing a mask which will trigger the status: Anon. And this status will grant the player ability to take less damage to the face or less damage to Upper Body. As you can see, by just equipping sets and pieces that makes the character cool looking will also trigger advantages or disadvantages to how they play. So far Wii U controller will allow players to customize how their Tekken character will look by drawing on their body or creating tatttos on their body or jacket. Also players can use the controller to custom edit stages which is crazy! What will Wii U controller allow the player to perform in DOA5? What features do you want that you can create with the controller? do you want set pieces and props that will trigger the character's play style much like Soul Calibur 4? or just leave the set pieces and props out of DOA?This message has been edited. I like the idea of customizing your charecter, to an extent. It could get out of hand depending on the level of cutomization. IMO, I liked Ninja Blades outfit customization better than SC. With Ninja Blade you could change the colors or add paterns to existing outfits compared to taking random pieces to create one. Because for the most part I like the DOA Outfits, I just wish we could change the colors. For example, if you got Ryu's classic ninja outfit, you could change the color of the cloth, the armbands and even the headband(Ive always wanted like a red and white outfit in that style, don't know why) But, keep the actual design of the outfit. Or Hayates Ninja mask outfit from either 3 or 4, with different patterns and colors. Now, the props and accessories would be hit or miss with me. Jann Lee could look cool with some shades or something. I would really just like to see some kind of progress with DOA5. Like maybe a single screenshot, something that proves it exists. (I enjoyed your DOA5 menu screen btw, its been like the closest thing to news for DOA5.)

It could get out of hand depending on the level of cutomization. I know what you mean, and that is SC4's fault. Instead of people should be fighting online, they are busying making game characters:/ I do agree with this, having the ability to customise the character's outfit colour like from Ninja Blade. For an example I love Helena's black colour outfit 1 in DOA 3. Instead of just pressing different buttons for different colours, we could just get a control over it. You're right about the props, it wouldn't feel DOA-y:/ But it does make sense to use props since in Survival mode everytime you defeat a character, they drop a prop and you can collect it but does nothing. (just health recovery) and thanks for the compliment. Its amazing just how crazy people are with DOA 5 O_o A lot of people ask about the game and I don't believe there are enough DOA fans, or more fans than NG fans.

The more I think about being able to change the color schemes the more I want it as a feature. And in theory, it would be easy to do.(Again I am thinking of Ninja Blades, but, more advanced options, because alot of his costume patters ended up making him look like a clown.) It would be similar to the NG2 outfits in the end. Cause that is exactly what Team Ninja did with the Blood, type-20, Jaguar, etc.... Only, if you done it yourself it would be way more personal. There are def. not enough NG or DOA fans. Most people I talk to have never played NG, and think that DOA is only about boobs. I am one of the people who still plays DOA4. Back on PS1 I played tekken, but, ever since I got DOA2 It was over. I have tried to get into other fighters but they just don't do it for me. And, since DOA D pretty much set up DOA5, I am getting so excited for it.

hhahahaha so true, you can say that again. Especially the DLC costumes makes him look like a clown/joker and worst. hahaha I wouldn't say there aren't enough NG or DOA fans. Its all in the head. If you compare DOA fans against Street Fighter or MK, yes we can agree there won't be enough fans for DOA. However DOA on its own has enough fans. People just keep asking about DOA 5. And since I created the DOA 5 mock up menu aka Leaked image. That got people talking about DOA again. Although many were not pleased to have DOA on 3DS. As for NG, yes there 'are' enough fans. The only problem is that there are not enough fan websites for NG or people talk about NG all the time. They only talk about NG when Devil May Cry is brought up or a new NG is about to be announced.

I've been looking through Arcade Stick so I can use for my ps3. Because lately my fingers isn't smooth around the controllers anymore especially when I play hardcore mode, after that I get cramps. Playing Marvel vs Capcom 3 the game gave me cramps for nearly a week especially on my thumb. And everytime I played VanQuisH Challege 6, I always had to perform finger/hand massage because of how hectic the mission was it was making my fingers feel cramped, sort of felt like I'd get RSI. I can't cope playing Marvel vs Capcom 2 because my fingers feels like it's reacting slow, as I can't quickly execute aerial combo anymore. So now i'm trying to get an Arcade stick and I do hope when Dead or Alive 5 gets released for consoles, Tecmo Koei would include an additional Fighting Stick. Other fighting games are doing it- Street Fighter 4, Tekken. I can't remember if Mortal Kombat had one. But I do suggest Tecmo Koei should include a fighting arcade stick along with the game.

You could buy one seperate for DOA4. I still want to get it. Even though I have never once used one.

there's an arcade stick for DOA4? or is it japan exclusive? i would suggest you get an arcade stick. I've never used one before. Until I tried MvC3 at a convention. It felt weird at start. But trust me, when you play on that cabinet, you know that "losing is not an option!" That is what I love about fighting games, the adrenaline rush, makes your blood and heart pump because you must not lost

Yes, it was made by Hori. (I believe it features kokoro on it) I remember always wanting it when I seen it in my local Gamestop, but not enough $$. I have it favorited on amazon.

Is there any logical chance that Dead or Alive 5 will show up at the Tokio Game Show 2011 or is TECMO still working at one Next Gen title at the same time as they did when Itagaki was the Leader of Team Ninja?? Well, the "fan"-thing is a really good point. Tekken, Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter do have a ton of fans. I think you could compare DoA with Soul Calibur or Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm, if we just talk about the "fan"bases. How ever, a lot of my friends are still playing DoA 4 and a few DoA Dimension. They are really waiting for DoA5!! I think a new DoA could show up at TGS 2011, what do you guys think? Too early?

i highly doubt it, they just finished making DOA D, and it's 0 chance possibility you will hear DOA5 this year. This year will be about Ni-Oh and Ninja Gaiden 3 expect DOA5 somewhere 2012 late or beyond.

ps4 & xbox 720 not to be released until 2014 http://www.mcvuk.com/news/read...ut-until-2014/082305 so you know what that means! DOA games has this thing for releasing as a launch title for new platform console especially to Xbox consoles right from Xbox 1. There's no slot for DOA 5 release around this year until 2014. Since Team NINJA are busy with Ninja Gaiden 3 slated for early 2012. Ninja Gaiden 3 Razor's Edge is coming as a launch title when ever Wii U gets released around 2012. Ni-Oh slated for 2013. so you should be expecting DOA 5 by 2014.

Since this thread has a wishlist vibe, I have to mention that Im still surprised there isnt a Tae Kwon Do charecter yet. They could have a male or female, and it is lacking for a fighter. Also, with Ni-Oh being the next title after NG3, I think it would be cool to have a charecter from that game. Because we know that it is a samurai game. So there could be a samurai fighter similar to maybe Shiden from DOA Dimensions (in play style), the charecter would have to be different than the ninjas. This would be way better than "guest" charecters like Spartan, or how people now want samus because of Dimensions. However I would agree with Momiji. Just dreaming...

DOA5 finally announced! who could have guessed!
The concept of DEAD OR ALIVE 5 is Fighting Entertainment Meaning it will be a fighting game for everyone to enjoy and not a serious hardcore tournament game with deep learning curve like Street Fighter 3: Third Strike or Dead Or Alive 4. Official DOA5 is out! http://teamninja-studio.com/doa5/ *key visual- sweating while fighting! There's a LOT of changes to DOA5. DOA Dimensions is meant to be a compilation of all DOA games from DOA 1 to DOA 4 and to fix all the broken plot, twist and holes in the story. DOA5 is a start of a new era with major changes to the game. As you can see the key is Fighting Entertainment. What is entertainment? something that gives us amusement. *it is likely the eyes of all characters will change to a mature look unlike the Anime style big eyes from pass DOA games. We could all tell this will happen with DOA Dimensions visual changes to the character's eyes. With the Visual Teaser, you could all see the poster of Kasumi, she is quite different and sweating. Team NINJA hid her eyes to give us a tease, which obviously means her eyes MIGHT get the Ayane look from Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2. *Entertainment- entertainment is for everyone to enjoy, like when you watch tv- entertainment can mostly be described by PG rating movies or show but not 18 rated show. Sure 18 rated is still entertainment but we view that differently in todays standard and politically correct manner. What I'm trying to say is that- DOA 5 might loosen the sex appeal it attained from previous DOA games. DOA 5 might just try to be a mature entertainment title for everyone to enjoy, the whole big breast thing made DOA too immature and targeted at teens. Mortal Kombat revamp and rebooted it's series. Team NINJA hasn't mentioned anything about revamping or rebooting with DOA5 as they've revamped the chronology with DOA Dimensions. Again I might be wrong on Team NINJA reducing DOA's main selling feature which is Sex. If you look at Kasumi teaser image, you'd see she's sort of half naked. Her original costume has her wearing a white collar around the neck. *Graphical upgrade- the destruction will be back along with characters sweating while fighting. In reality when we fight what do we do and perform? we run out of breath, anxiety gets us, adrenaline gets us and we sweat. Will DOA 5 attain more reality fighting segmentation features in this game? Man...Team NINJA is on a roll man. I guess with Tecmo Koei merger actually proved a positive thing after all! Because the team has drastically expanded so much, Team NINJA are working on insane multiple projects now. *Ninja Gaiden 3 due early 2012 *Ninja Gaiden Sigma- Vita *Ninja Gaiden 3D- 3DS *Ni-Oh- xbox 360 & ps3 *Dead or Alive 5- 2012 xbox 360 & ps3. Man this is a shock to me, I couldn't see DOA 5 being made shortly after DOA Dimensions came out 2011. And DOA 5 is coming 2012! How do Team NINJA do these type of working man? are they working 100 hours a week? This message has been edited. Last edited by: xino,

its amazing man! I won't be surprise if the characters get little bruises on their face:P Also everything is now modern, no more futuristic DOA from Itagaki's vision. Meaning all stages will be from known locations in the world, characters will have realistic facial look and expression like Ayane from Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2. Did you see how the stage destruction works? when you hit your opponent onto danger devices or some object, it would trigger an event in the background, everything happening in the background can hurt both players. Think of DOA 4's Casino street stage, how you can get hit by cars driving pass. Man it's gonna be mind blowing to see all DOA characters including new ones with the Ayane type of facial design. IGN coverage http://uk.ps3.ign.com/articles/119/1194264p1.html The video teased special finishing moves that incorporated the stage in different ways. For example, Hayabusa launched a bolt of energy at Hayate and sent him spiraling through the air, only to be hit by a flying car (for some reason). Team Ninja promises that the stages in Dead or Alive 5 will no longer be "sidekicks" to the action, but critical parts of the competitive experience. Hit by a flying car? I may be wrong on settings of DOA5, it might still be futuristic. Better picture of the lead teams for Dead Or Alive 5 http://www.famitsu.com/news/20...Y878QzNpuR23OE7.html If you are a Team NINJA fan, you'd know who those people are. They are also the same lead teams developing Ninja Gaiden 3. Although there is a new guy in the middle, the 3rd person. core team for DOA5 development. This message has been edited. *Cheers like a crazed fan* I already like the new Hayate model. And, the stage is looking good also. I wonder if you can continue after being knocked off? Like on DOA3 and DOAU2, after going off the edge you would fall through a neon sign, I loved that.

from the trailer *the music changes when you trigger an event concurrent to the stage *also this might be a long shot, but I believe you can press buttons/combinations to try and get back up into the stage if an opponent knocks you off.
