Dead or alive has a great overall visual style but i'd like to see a bit more realism in the characters. I love the anime style graphics and it makes DOA unique compared to most fighters but DOA4 was a launch title and surely through Sigma 2 Hayashi has become very familiar with the PS3's development process and could make the visuals better overall.

I really loved how Ryu and Ayane looked in Sigma 2 ( far superior to the Ninja Gaiden II versions ) and if they updated all the DOA characters to that quality it would be a step in the right direction.

just as a point of reference, I know Tekken 6 was a dissappointment graphically to most but I would like to see the muscles and veins in Hayabusa's arms like you can see on characters like Kazuya in tekken.

finally I want to say as I have said many times before! DOA is the best fighting game EVER!! but if tekken, Virtua fighter, street fighter, Capcom vs.. and the other franchises are releasing new games recently then DOA will become forgotten! Tecmo NEED to make a new DOA! there is a strong fan-base just waiting for the game if only you would give us any news about DOA5? is it ever going to happen?? (>_<)

Would such effects be possible on the PS3?

I mean how about include costume drenching effects if you get dumped on a pool of water, costume damage effects if you hit an exploding wall and the like. And a little touch up on the designs woulld be good and all but not too drastic (like what Namco did with Xenosaga One and Two(the latter was a monstrosity) which forced them to return the designs back to Eisode One..or something close to Episode One.)

The PS3 is the most powerful of the three, so if PS3 can't do it then its impossible.

But with the graphics in Sigma 2 I think it should be easy for a fighting game to pull off.

Why not a Tekkeneque like "costume" upgrade shop? Naaaah! Too obvious and blatant a rip off.

A few games have done that now so it wouldn't be a rip off, character customization would be good but batle damage would be cool! and why not battle damage on custom costume? (^_^)

I think the animated direction is OK for Dead or Alive. They could add flashes when a combo is finished.
