The reason why I'm making this topic is from what I've experienced.


When you play DOA and see these characters performing all these moves, sure some of them are cool and some amazing. But you wouldn't know where they got them from, and because Team NINJA did their research and added all these different varieties of moves to 1 character, that is what makes that character so awesome and unique!


With this realistic technique Team NINJA are using, they used it to a great advantage for DOA4 and that in this game you'll see this technique really shines.

Ok what I'm talking about is this:
Take a look at Jan Lee, sure he is using Jeet Kune Do AKA Bruce Lee's style. If you watch all the moves Jan Lee can perform, you'll realise that, those moves Bruce Lee already performed each and every single moves in all his moves.
One particular move I noticed from DOA4 was when Jan Lee jumps and uses both his elbow and knocks down an opponent called the Comet Strike. That move Bruce Lee used in Big Boss, ice rink work shop. When I first noticed this technique, I thought Team NINJA only applied it to Jan Lee.


Until I finally watched Drunken Master by Jackie Chan. Take a look at Brad Wong's moveset, every single one was performed by Jackie Chan. If you watch all the moves Team NINJA gathered into 1 character, when you see a real actor perform them, you'll be so amazing!
The fact is a lot of moves Brad Wong uses look better than how Jackie Chan performed them.



What is the point of this topic? I'm trying to say that, nearly all the character's fighting style are gotten from different movies and martial arts, not just made up stuff.


I want to see a character use "Wing Chung", Donnie Yen portrayed this awesome style in the movie IP Man. Just imagine a character use this move, or the character's special attack of this move.

~I do think that Christie's Snake Fist hand movement needs to be improved. If you are using Snake Fist, your hands movement must be fluid not straight. Although her body movement does symbolizes snake but still.~

What about Dim Mark? Death Touch. Hokuto No Ken AKA Fist of the North Star uses this move so awesomely. It's the move you hit the vital point of the human body, it could paralyze their body or cause part of the body to shut down.

How about the Classic Kick Boxing?

Muay Thai, please Team NINJA seriously need to re-work Zack's moves. I love his animation movesets in DOA4, but I want some movesets to look like Tony Jaa's moves! Ong Bak shows the true way of using Mauy Thai, knees and mother f**ng Elbows!

Heck Mortal Kombat has the largest characters with so many martial arts, but they don't look good when characters perform them. I mean n00b Saibot performing Monkey Style is a no no. Although I do give credit to the Hapkido style, it looks good on Scorpion but rubbish in real life performance.

All martial art performer are excellent in there work. If want addition of more material art style then why dont anyone make a strong character like hunk?
