More like dumped to theaters actually.

With not many theaters showing it (a mere 505) and little to no advertising, DOA only earned $232,000 in its opening weekend.
Unfortunately, there is no silver lining here. as the per theater average was a pathetic $459, one of the worst per theater averages for films currently in theaters this week.

In short, DOA landed with a resounding thud.

Sad to hear but I can't say I'm all that surprised.
P.S. Am I the only person who thinks that they probably castrated Live Free or Die Hard to get the PG-13 rating? I mean what is a Die Hard film without plenty of bloodshed, F-bombs and angst.

I thought it was going straight to DVD... Then they could release the "unrated" version...

For what its worth going buy the percentages of good reviews versus bad reviews it did better than Even Almighty and was 1 point behind the new Fantasic Four film. Then again there were alot more reveiws for those two films.

Sheeesh i know its only my opinion but seriously one of the worst movies ever made, I'd rather watch Street Fighter the Movie twice back to back.

I just got the video in today and I thought it was Awsome!! Yea I know it doesn't exactly go with the story line and all that but it was still a great movie to watch. Better than Charlies Angels. Itagaki Angels

I thought this was a stupid movie, with a pointless plot. Casting on the other hand was pretty decent. For an action/fighting film it was ok. Just wish there was Hitomi

What's with all the complaining? That film is better than two thirds of the trite coming out of hollywood recently.
It doesn't try to be anything it's not, but it's good at what it is trying to be: a martial-arts, action-comedy. It's clearly intended to be a spoof and, like Chavelo already said, it's a better film than Charlie's Angels, and without the excessive tittilage (which surprised me too, since this is DOA we're talking about).

I own it cause I liked it. I thought it was better than the two Mortal Kombat movies.

Ive been a DOA fan since Dreamcast so I really, really wanted to like this movie... but it was just horrible. It was cool to see the DOA characters on screen but It was just too stupid seriously the only redeeming feature in that film was Helena's @ss.
