I Know what you are saying. I would personally love a monster rancer for the PSP (as long as they stick with the password system). I have been waiting FOREVER for them to get another game out.

I'd love to see a new monster rancher on psp or ps3... maybe using website addresses to generate monsters as opposed to (or in addition to) cd/dvds etc.

Using website addresses, Tecmo could allow for special monsters, items, dungeons to explore or anything like that to be available on specific dates, kind of like the way animal crossing provides seasonal opportunities. It could allow for a lot of longevity and growth.

How about using digital media along with CDs?

Such as a picture loaded onto your PS3, or a song track instead of a whole cd. The possibilities could be endless!

I agree that it needs to go back to its roots to be successful though. All the new gimicks that started with 3 is what brought the series down.

But Monster Rancher DS is on it's way and it supposedly has gone back to the era of MR 1 and 2, I am extremely excited about it!

Xbox 360 cannot handle a Monster Rancher title. When you eject the disc tray, you go back to the Xbox menu. Just simply could not work on 360. PS3 and PSP have no such problems. I actually play Mosnter Rancher and Monster Rancher 2 on my PS3. And never replace the disc system with passwords or alpha-numeric systems. That is a horrible mistake and addition to the series. And Monster Rancher 4 kept pretty close to the roots as well. The only thing new was the adventure system. That wasn't all that bad. And you have to love the fact you could customize your ranch and raise 5 monsters at once.

Your point? Look at Lost Odyssey, Blue Dragon. They have disc changes. That doesn't change anything. The 360 still couldn't do multiple disc changes. Changing from one disc to another for a few hours is quite a bit different than changing about 100 discs in an hour.

but there is no proff that it could not do the disc change of 100's in not 1000's disc's

That would be some extensive coding. The console itself simply isn't designed for repetitive disc ejecting without going back to the dashboard.
