CNBC talks to Strauss Zelnick, ZelnickMedia, Take-Two Interactive chairman about the GTA4 release last week. Some of it is PR but a bit of it is kind of a reminder of why EA wants them so badly.
Also there have been glitches with the online play and as with other GTAs it is one of the buggiest games you will probably ever play. If reviewers are willing to over look it's technical faults and give the game a perfect score you know there is something really special about it. Expected to have made 500 Million in the first week. My guess is that the 50 million Microsoft paid them will be considered a drop in the bucket. ------------------------------------------------ Mirror's Edge ------------------------------------------------ This more or less a concern. There seems to be a bunch of games coming out that render at a resolution lower than 720p(there is a difference between displayed resolution and rendered resolution). My concern is that most of these titles are actually big games that might end up setting a precedent for the rest of the industry. Rumor: Microsoft's version of the Wiimote.
I find this rumor kind of meh. I don't really care if it is true or not. It may encourage more devs to take advantage of motion sensing for their multiplatform games. It may lead to games that would normally be Wii only going multiplatform but ,because this remote hasn't been bundled with the systems from the get go, I'm not sure if it will catch on. Even if they bundle it with the next Banjo ,which has a very good chance given Rare's recent track record of being largely ignored by gamers, probably won't be enough to make it take off. We'll find out soon enough I guess. |

Sega and Platinum Games sign a three game deal
Trailer from one of the games Here is another. It is a Wii game. ------------------------------------------------ There are rumors that the following might be some kind of controller. There is another possibility that this is to compete with something other than the wiimote though.  Rumor of what Lips is. This is the same guy who started the rumor of Microsoft and Bungie splitting.
