After watching the video as I was ridiculously stunned, I noticed a lot of things.

This topic will discuss all the features many fans had asked and wanted for Ninja Gaiden 3.
And I will list them here if Team NINJA did listen
(yes they did)
the truth is, developers always listen to ideas from fans and the fans are what keeps them going, making games and allowing them to be creative.
Obviously if the devs say it out of their mouth "we want to hear what you have to say" (in which many do all the time), it would mean fans would start posting so much ridiculous things that eventually cannot be granted causing them to waste their time and they would eventually complain the devs are not listening.
So the best possible thing to do is just to ask for things, discuss them and eventually your idea might end up in the game even though devs never told fans to ask for things. If a dev say "tell us your idea" that means people would waste countless hours pouring out ideas the devs will not grant.
It's only when devs needs help for naming an achievement or weapon; that is when they ask fans for their ideas.

Anyway here are the ideas we all put together and Team NINJA granted.

Gliding Ability incorporated to the Gameplay
Also we see Ryu using his gliding ability in many cutscenes but never have we had the chance to perform it. So how about including this in the actual gameplay? It would be interesting to see this used as a puzzle tool, and to make it more interesting why not add some aerial combat as well?! Like Ryu can jump off buildings and mountains and slash enemy ninja and fiends while in the air? That to me would be sick to see.
nice idea and Team NINJA executed it very well!
--Ryu can perform Flying Swallow instant kill when Gliding--

Moaning injured ninjas
so, imagine this, after killing like a dozen enemies, the completely dead ones (no head, or missing 3 limbs) will only stay on the screen for 30 seconds and disappear (this will help with slow-downs) but the barely surviving ones (missing 2 limbs) will stay there, moaning and screaming from pain, this is when you can eliminate them. (too many of those moaning enemies could slow down the game, so you might want to OT them instead of leaving them)

Looking at Casltevania Lords of Shadow, an upcoming Hack n Slash game that borrows lots of features from other Hack n Slash games and looking to be phenomenon and promising. One feature the game possess that caught my eye was the HUD effect. It's the same effect heavily used in Metroid Prime in other FPS greatly lacks:/
Another game such as Republic Commandos uses this similar effect, though it's the only game I could get an example of how the HUD effect works.

Come on now if a bloody game like Ninja Gaiden 2 can have so many blood+gore, it would obviously have HUD sfx to it.

Kunai
Many fans have countlessly asked for Ryu to be able to use the kunai strapped to his leg. Finally Ryu can do so.

Sonia communicating with Ryu?
We want Sonia to somehow communicate with Ryu in part of the mission, or Sonia giving Ryu tasks.
The handsfree kit doesn't have to be big. Sonia can communicate with Ryu giving him task something about fiends infecting a near town. We can even say there's a special attack Ryu can do that calls Sonia and she sends a rocket missiles to Ryu's location that blows up the screen killing fiends around Ryu. I mean other games do this kind of thing even though they are different genre Marcus Fenix communicating with Ayna, Master Chief communicating with Cortana, Cortez communicating with Ayna (Timesplitter).

stealth mode like Splinter Cell conviction

Although I never played Technu series and after experiencing Splinter Cell conviction, I hoped NG3 would allow a sequence mode like Techu. A stealth mode that is optional.
-Ryu can now assassinate enemies when in stealth, this is optional-



I know making this topic might be naive or full of myself.
But you might just not know if Team NINJA actually took our ideas in account. So it's best not to be modest about it and be proud.

I have always read on different boards that people wanted the blood to appear on hayabusa.
And now it does, he was covered at points.
Also, the fact that he never picked up speed while running, it appears in those videos that he gets going faster now.

does he get speed?
I think the speed is scripted, it happens automatically during events.

But I do hope he can actually pick up speed when jugging for a short time like in Devil May Cry 4.

I really want a faster run. I love exploring every area of the games, and the quickest way to get around is the roll/dash, jump and repeat routine. I always thought once you were running it would be cool to have like a "boost."

And, I know this is always said but, I want more costumes. Especially traditional ninja clothes.

about the arm thing, I'm gonna have to disagree.
Because the arm glow is actually the indication to tell players they can pull off a UT. Since we do not have a HUD to tell us or orb perceive in the area.
If I can think out of my head, there are many games that allows a character to pull off special move if part of their body indicates something, however half the time the player would not be aware they have the chance to execute that special move.

When you are playing this game, casuals who are busy hacking n slashing or button bashing would not even be aware the arm is glowing that allows them to pull off a UT. But master ninja who times and carefully inspect can know when the arm glows that gives them an opportunity to execute a UT.


I wouldn't even complain about this because it is minor.
The purpose of the arm bleeding is to use it in-conjunction with moves, because you can never pull of a UT during combo in older NG game. However in this game because of how new the combat plays, the UT can be used directly while comboing.

I can understand after you've dispatched a group of enemies and you have your arm glowing intact; as you advance to the next area you can instantly pull off the conserved UT.

This is something flawed I would say NG1 did and it was fixed in NG2. In NG1 people could stop Ryu from absorbing orbs in the area after all enemies are dead; the player would then move to the next room and instantly pull UT. NG2 manages to fix that exploit by allowing Ryu to automatically absorb all orbs.
It's also a way of cheating the Karma point system.

And Hayashi said the arm is connected to the story. So even though you kill one enemy, the arm will not glow. Because if you kill 1 enemy in old NG games, an orb will appear giving you a chance to pull off UT right out of the bat with no hard work.

However in NG3 you have to work hard to get a UT chance, so as soon as you see your arm glow, you can use it because you would be distracted by the enemies on screen in MN. So having the 'give-away' arm glow is important.

I agree with you, and I also noted it in my blog. I do hope Team NINJA do include a feature that allows Ryu to sprint.
But I don't think they would include it. NG3 splits up the gameplay motivation pacing. In NG1- you run around killing enemies and later you are solving puzzle. The puzzle solving gives the player a break from running around killing.
However in NG2 which has terrible game design, allows ryu to constantly run around in circles and just kill bad guys. I don't know how people do not find that boring or repetitive.

So in NG3, the pacing is divided into running around killing, gliding from the air to different areas, kunai climbing and stealth killing. So I believe the ability to run is no longer needed as we would not be trying to run around killing all the time. Which was flawed in NG2.

He just always seemed to run slow for a super ninja.
It makes me think of playing Shinobi 3(I think) on the sega genesis, if you would double tap the forward button he would run faster than if you didn't.

That same shinobi game also had a ninpo where your ninja guy(cant remember his name) would multiply. It didn't really help at all in that game except for making you jump higher. But, I always thought that would make a cool ninpo for ryu. When you cast it, there would be like shadow ryus fighting enemies surrounding you.

@ xino, after watching the game play videos like 50 times i agree with you. the arm glow is perfect. what was i thinking.
How about a better animation for stealth movement.

what do you mean? you mean when he goes in Stealth mode and walks slowly while holding the sword?


it's actually a nostalgic to how Ryu would walk originally when holding the Dragon Sword.


I remember watching this TGS 2002 trailer, after seeing the walking stealth animation in NG3 i immediately recognised it.


everything about this game I love.

Same stealth movement can also be seen in Sigma 1.

I remember going through every weapons "slow walk."

The swords were the best. Which reminds me, I want the Kitetsu back!

Look at how other games got their characters moving in stealth. game like MGS, splinter cell and tenchu. In NG3 he just walking it doesn't look like he's moving stealthy.

well its really not a stealth game. This stealth was added to change the pacing of the game, so that you just don't aimlessly run into the field and hack n slash.

I liked the look of the NG3 stealth kills, which are optional. However, there was only one animation for every stealth kill I saw. I hope they change depending on the angle of your approach.

i understand what you are saying xino, but if you are going to add stealth into the game should the character have some type of animation for moving stealthy instead of just walking. that walking slowly don't look like he's getting ready for a stealth kill.

it reminds me of how Ryu walks slowly in NGB. It feels like he's about to do something bad the way he walks.
