Yea I'm starting this topic a little too early.
But I just wanted to point something out before I forget. I will update this topic when the game gets released and I fully observe all the things and ingredients of NG3. In the mean time: I'm beginning to think that Hayashi got this whole Seamless and immersive idea from God of War 3. Inspiration I was recently playing GoW 3 (my 2010 GOTY) again and I found out about the button prompts. The button prompts that appear on screen gives a sense of immersion when playing GOW 3. For an example if you were to open a chest you would have to use Kratos power by pressing Circle. Or trying to open a gate would prompt you to tap both L1 & R1 simultaneously to give you a sense of you using both buttons to interact with Kratos's arms. The immersion in GoW 3 is what I think gave Hayashi more idea to develop the combat of Ninja Gaiden 3, thus calling Bayonetta type of games old. In GoW 3 the button maps for use in interaction were not there just for show off, per se, you can use those actions to perform certain things in the game in relation to how the button were mapped. For an example your usual grab button is mapped to Circle and what ever execution or special interaction Kratos does is always with the Circle button. The QTE however does not give immersion when performing them. As you can see the level of immersivness in GoW 3 can also be seen in Ninja Gaiden 3. Whenever you Kunai Climb, as you use L1 and R1 to climb simultaneously, pushing one of the button would make Ryu climb up or down to give you a sense of realism as if you are the one making Ryu's arm move. Which is exactly the same thing you do in GoW 3 with Kratos. Not only that, as I was trying to explain how buttons that are button map requires you to perform actions in the game. For an example small gaps would require Ryu to slide under the gap, and to do that you would have to press L1+Directional to perform the slide which is exactly how the action button was mapped. It gives a sense of realism that the button mappings ARE there for a reason and not only useful in combat alone. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Now that this game is out and we all experience how amazing and ruined this game is (to some people), I can now lay out the facts, inspiration, pop references and easter eggs to this game. INSPIRATION: By all means this game gets majority of it's inspiration from the well known acclaim game God of War 3. It borrows all the things that made GOW amazing, and well known, although it did not borrow GOW's core such as the combat mechanics. *Hayabusa village- gotten from Spartan City, home of Kratos in God of War: Ghost of Spartan. Exactly all the things that happens in Ghost of Spartan was very similar to NG3. From Kratos walking slow, performing a mini game and talking to the villages was exactly the same thing Ryu did as him too walked slowly, talked to the villagers and interacted with the villagers. Another inspiration NG3 got was from Metal Gear Solid 4. MGS4 is a master piece and a true game that shows how to enjoy an Action gameplay experience. *Jeep shootout- Gotten from the section of Metal Gear Solid 4 when Snake was riding with Mother (I can't remember her name) and you had to use machine gun to gun down enemies chasing after you. Same thing can be experienced when you arrive at Tokyo riding in a jeep with Mizuki and you had to shoot your arrows to stop the enemies from blowing up the truck. *Epic yell- Although I would not say NG3 borrows inspiration from this particular scene, the scene when Ryu yells out Canna and the Black Narwal perishes into the ocean. There is a similar epic scene in Metal Gear Solid 4 when Liquid controlled all the soldiers and hero during the time he was about to be arrested and Snaked yelled out "OCATCOOOOON". That was just too sick and epic. I just wanted to say any good Action movie you watch, there is ALWAYS a similar scene such as this, and I am not talking about scenes such as someone being killed and the hero/badguy yelling out "NOOOO". *"Hayabusa? GO"- Ok it really pains me that I cannot point out a direct to this reference, once again if you watch lots of action movies, you would have come across something like this. A scene when a monster appears, mistress in distress calls out the heroes name and the hero tells her/them to get away as far as possible. This was a badass scene in NG3 and I can't point out any references to this scene because I can't remember. The only thing that comes to my mind is the scene in Street Fighter Alpha when the Android with Dark Hadou powers appears in Saddler's island and Ken told Chun Li to get out as he would take care of him. *Obaba Boss battle- this is a no brainer and it obviously screams God of War's Kratos vs Cronous boss battle. The interesting thing was Team NINJA actually manages to pull this off in an epic way nearly exactly how GOW3 did. We actually experienced something like this twice. One was Obaba boss battle and the second being The Goddess boss fight. *Consequences kill- again another inspiration from GOW, when Kratos is about to finish off a boss, he would slowly walk up to them. Same thing Ryu does. Another was the first person kill cam which we experienced many times in GOW3, so we did in NG3 only in the beginning which was very gripping! EASTER EGGS This game is very bland thus not consisting of any Easter Eggs! Only thing I can point out is the DOATec building in Tokyo but wouldn't we even be expecting that in the first place? *One of the easter eggs in the game is during Abismo Island inside LOA Labs. You can see prototypes and displays of LOA weapon researches, and some of the display showing enemies weapons and gears which were used by soldiers from Ninja Gaiden 1. Making a note that LOA provided those soldiers the suit and weapons to be used in Ninja Gaiden 1. *Another easter egg was a character from Classic Ninja Gaiden 2 who goes by the name Robert T.S Robert in Classic NG2 Robert in NG3 *Sea Swallow reference- Although I do not know why this reference was once again used in NG3 and by another character. The term Sea Swallow was a code name used by Irene Lew in Classic NG1. All I can say is that the opening scene of Day 7 was just all about references and easter eggs. *Crimson- This can be a not to far guess, but I was thinking Crimson from Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Prologue might have a reference to this game. In Shadows of the World there is a mask and gear called Crimson Demon. The colour is red which associates to Crimson himself. Although the mask may look different to what Crimson actually looked like, but sometimes character design changes. OR Then again the Crimson Demon might just be another traditional Japanese culture reference. Crimson wearing the red mask. REFERENCES *Hyotoko Mask & Okame mask from Shadows of the World They are traditional Japanese festival character *Old Man mask from Shadows of the world Another ancient Japanese culture mask for a traditional Japanese dance "Noh". Old Man/ Yamaguchi Okina. Another picture just in case I get the reference wrong, since I'm not Japanese The kokushikijo mask *The Iron Crown Another of Noh play, Kogyo the Iron Crown or Kanawa *The White Fox mask from Shadows of the World If you do get one piece of Japanese Culture then you must have come across this before. The traditional Japanese White Fox mask. *The Hanya mask from Shadows of the World Once again another Japanese traditional reference This is all I can find for now. This message has been edited. The Nioh and Tengu masks for trials or clan battles, would be Japanese Reality-Folklore references. And, the Nioh mask could also point to the mystery Ni-Oh game Team NInja picked up.

lol
@Snazzypanic yea, you're right, which is the obvious one:P @Dybyhands00 I haven't seen what those masks look like so I couldn't make any reference. I wonder what the Nioh mask would look like |
