We first have to assume that without the publishing deal with Microsoft this game would likely go multi-platform like most games will this generation that aren't paid for in some way by a hardware manufacture. There are three possibilities when it comes to the publishing deal Microsoft has with Tecmo for this game.
1. Microsoft is publishing game in the west as gesture of goodwill to Tecmo for all of their support over the years. Microsoft has done similar things with games from other third party Japanese developers(Mistwalker games are second party) but this is likely first time that they actually got something worth publishing out of the deal. The game would have done great on the 360 without Microsoft publishing it but now it has more money behind it. The publishing deal will allow for more money to be spent on advertising than what Tecmo of America can afford. Microsoft can do an extensive push of this game in western market similar to Mass Effect, Gears of War, Bioshock(Yes, Microsoft played a huge role in getting that game out), and Lost Odyssey. The advertising for this game could end up rivaling the advertising for the God of War games in quality. Let's not forget that more money is likely going into the development of the game as well. Tecmo has publishing rights to the game in Japan, which might leave things open for a JPN PS3 release.
2. Microsoft sees this game as their answer to God of War and Heavenly Sword. When DMC4 went multi-platform it no longer was a good reason to purchase one HD console over the other. The title becomes a wash, which really shouldn't matter in when it comes to your console purchasing decision just like games like Madden. You will likely make your purchase based on that game of course along other console exclusives and features. If NG2 went multi it would leave Sony with one big action exclusive and one that still has potential of becoming huge if any sequels are made. As of now Microsoft's first and second parties have nothing that can compete directly with it.* Even if they did come up with something, there would be no guarantee that it would end up being good enough or have the appeal to compete with God of War. This could be part of the reason why Microsoft chose to publish the game in the west, where God of War would be a threat to them but not in Japan where most Japanese gamers couldn't care less about God of War. Also considering that Microsoft has done a terrible job of getting the attention of Japanese gamers, it would have also been a horrible decision to allow MS to publish the game in Japan. I think Microsoft decided to do turn IU over to SE for the same reason. Once again because God of War is only a threat in the western market, Tecmo putting the game on the the PS3 for the Japanese market only probably wouldn't be a huge blow to the 360.
3. The publishing deal is only there so that gamers will know that it is a true exclusive rather than a timed one at least for this generation.
Given those possibilities a western release for the PS3 will probably not happen unless there is some type of loop hole in the deal or if MS is only the publisher for the western market for a limited amount of time, which would be weird and I doubt that will happen end within a year of its release on the 360. Then again considering the weirdness of Microsoft Game Studios this generation I could end up being proven wrong.
*Too Human right now seems to be more of and Action RPG than a pure action game.
Just look at NG on the Xbox, it was "exclusive." Up until 3 years later, on the PS3. My guess it will be on the 360 for a while, then have an updated version on the PS3.

I agree-I won't be buying a 360 just for the sake of this game. It's unfair that this is exclusive when it should have been released on both consoles. Either way, Tecmo gave their publishing rights up to Microflop so there's nothing we can do about it.
I have both a PS3 and Xbox 360 and just purchased Ninja Gaiden Sigma a few weeks ago. I am gonna purchase Ninja Gaiden 2 even though its exclusive to Xbox 360 since its published by Microsoft Studios who have published games like Gears of War. If it were to be ported to PS3 it would take a few years like maybe in 2009.

I just join this forum just to tell Shogun that you are a hater. Dont be mad because lame PS3 dont qualify to have great games like NG2 or DOA. Even the Wii laughs in sony's face with record breaking sales. Time to move on and let it go. Microsoft wont alow this game to touch sonys hands after publishing it. Sorry stop drinkin that haterade and get a life!
I will buy 10 copies of every TECMO game made for PS3.
This is obsession! You need to calm down, you are not getting paid to support sony so chill out. I know your jealous of mirosoft but for what? Your sony but you are not. Get off of the ride, play another game, and get a 360. Thats the only way you are going to play DOA or any more NG games. Get over it HATER.
I wouldn't mind that came to the ps3 if it does it does. Ps3 is the ultimate gaming machine and 360 is well on it's way out the door. I have no idea why people buy such crap hardware...it's like this, would you buy a car that keeps breaking down 3-4 times a year?
If you look the only place 360 is beating anything in sales in the US.Worldwide ps3 spanks the 360 and I don't consider Wii a next gen system it's for toddlers and simple people.
