I was just thinking, NG3 could have a COOP story line separate from the main story. It would be 4 player COOP and there are different objectives for each mission. Like this one:

Rumor has it doku, genshin, and two doppelgangers have been resurrected, you must defeat them once and for all. At the final part of this mission, the host chooses who fights who.

Now I know team ninja probably cant add this to the disc, but they could put it out as free dlc. Just think about
