does anyone know if deleting the game data (and not the save data) will cause you to lose anything related to team missions or stats or whatever? i need to delete my game data and reinstall it (long story), but i don't want to do it unless i know it's 100% safe.

no...all progress data is located under the PS3's Saved Games.
Game Data is just installed games and updates (patches) downloaded.
