I hope more people will choose to spend more time with the female characters and figure out how reliable they can be and how great they play. Rather than using them for Ninja Art (glitch/loop/cheating), for movelist or for spamming UT.

good analysis, but still I hate Rachel since sigma 1. I don't say shes bad, but she has always seemed slow, annoying and an eye sore to me, not to mention that she feels out of the games atmosphere(not a ninja, and her sister is dead already, so what is she doing ) , love the other two since they are fun to play with, have cool moves and in the game they feel in their natural environment.

I really wish they delete Rachel in NG3 and replace her by kasumi

Well Ryu doesn't really act like how a true ninja acts which is assassinating an opponent from behind or from the shadow. Hopefully we should see that in NG3.

But removing Rachel is blasphemy and going too far!

Rachel was not designed properly in Sigma 1, she had too much flawed however it was great to play with. Because she proved to be stronger than Ryu and can weild the War Hammer better than Ryu too.

She's definitely better in Sigma 2. People just love to spam her Machine Gun and UT attack. You just need to spend more time using her in Sigma 2 and you'll change your mind.

I know that her existence in the game is necessary, and that she became a very important part for others, but to me it's totally not,
( Just my opinion and feelings ) not that you are wrong or anything.

and when I said she feels out of the atmosphere, I meant that ninja gaiden is a fast based game and thus characters has to be fast too in order to enable players react and interact in some variations in options and moves, but since shes somehow slow you see players spam her UT and use her failure bug of an evade move all the time.

fast based hacking and slashing needs fast moves and characters.
a mix of slow and fast makes slow character dispensable .
but still it's only because "I" don't like her and thats my opinion.

actually I disagree with, Ninja Gaiden is really a fast pace title, Ninja Gaiden 2 is but not Sigma 2 and Black. That's one of the down falls of Ninja Gaiden 2 because of it's fast pace and need to attack instead of defend.

she's still not reactive in Sigma 2, half of her moves do not connect:/
I'm still trying to figure out the move with L2+Direction near an enemy and press O for machine gun.

ok I discover a cancel move for Momiji that allows for more combo.
I think each female characters have 2 secret techniques.

For Momiji I discovered she could Jump Cancel in Mid Air combo. This is something big and not a small thing.
*Momiji= Square+Triangle+Square *this is where the Jump Cancel works in mid air.
When she jumps cancels, she then have an access to 4 moves.
Pressing Square would perform the down falling slam attack.
Pressing Triangle would perform the falling cutting attack.
Pressing and Holding down Triangle for a few seconds would perform a flying swallow attack
Pressing and Holding down Triangle if essence is around would perform a falling ultimate technique.
You can also perform projectile attacks even 2x projectile attack with this.

You can only jump cancel if you are in mid air and haven't finished an air combination. For an example S+T+S+S+S would not jump cancel because the last combination needs you to press T (Triangle). So it can only be done S+T+S+S+J.


So far I've discovered 2 of Momiji's unique moves. Instant Guillotine throw and Jump Cancel.

I'm still trying to heavily find Ayane's second secret technique and Rachel's. Plus I discovered her L2+Direction+O defensive attack.

I'm kinda with despair with this one, I personally do not like Rachel. NGS1 was annoying with how they forced the players to play with Rachel after a certain chapter(i think chapter 7).

and she's no different in NGS2, while a tad bit quicker I do hate being forced to play her for a chapter.

found a new move with Ayane

really effective if you want to tag one enemy with a kunai and instantly flying swallow to the nearest enemy. And I believe this flying swallow delimbs enemies 79% of all times. You can use this to follow up to additional combo or string it to an Izuna Drop.

I can now confirm that Momiji's evade attack is responsive, efficient and better than Ryu's Dash.
One of the good things about her evade is when you block and evade at the right time, Momiji would block and somersault.
