I have cleared and mastered PotMN. All I have left to do is beat the team missions. However, my connection is terrible.

I don't know what the problem is. I lag all the time and people always get disconnected from me. I don't lag on other ps3 games. I have cable internet and get good speeds, but I can't get people to play with me so I can finish up the MN and UN team missions. I know this game is known to lag but I think this is beyond that. The people I was playing with live in the US too and they say they're normally able to play with other people without as much of a problem. I can't play solo because the partner AI isn't good enough. Please help

well this game disconnects a lot for me too and other people.
The reason why it lags its because of so many idiots who use Wireless connection to play games online which is completely retarded!

You need to manually set your connection. Ever since I manually set my connection, I get less disconnections, more steady gameplay and less lag.

You need to:
*Set the Duplex to 100 BASE TX- FULL DUPLEX (main one)
About setting the Duplex, you can only determine the right one by testing your connection multiple times and see if you get the same number results for your Download Speed & Upload Speed.

Test it 3 times, if you get above 10+mb it should be set to the next duplex which might be 1000 (1000 base are for people using optical connection- fast data connection). if you get low download speed -10mb, you need to set it to one of the 10 duplex.

I dunno why your connection is terrible.
you say you are using Cable Ethernet, so is your NAT set to NAT 2 or NAT 3?


Mentor 5 and Master Ninja 1 are known to disconnect people a lot.

Yeah Cable Ethernet. Nat 2. Speedtested and got 24mbps download 4mbps upload

that's a lot of download speed man!

*change the Duplex to 1000 half and run test: if you have same download speed, use this however if you have lower download speed change the setting to:
*duplex 1000 full. If download speed drops, use 100 duplex full.

Nat 2 is good and the main connection, Nat3 is bad.

like I said, idiots just use wireless to play games online!
Disconnection occur in Mentor 5, Warrior 6 and Master Ninja 1.

I would do wired internet (since it's necessary if I want to use adHoc Party) but my brother will not let me, he says there's not a significant difference in speed, but I know it affects the stability of the connection.

there's not a computer in my house that uses wired internet.

my modem is right next to the PS3, so if I wanted to connect them, it wouldn't be a problem.

wait, so all of u guys have ur modem next to ur PS3? most ppl's modems would already be occupied by a desktop.

wireless transfers less data than wired connection, and people CONSTANTLY moan this game's connection is terrible.


Well truly the ps3 is designed to be used wireless because of using the internet browser, friends communication, Life, media server. It wouldn't make sense to connect the ps3 wired and use the internet browser, if I do so I might as well use my computer's internet browser.

That's the point however multiplayer gaming isn't meant to be played on wireless.


I've finally port foward the ps3's port, I'll play some more games online and see if I get disconnected. The only experience I had is just lag, with idiots again () using wireless. I want to see if I'll get any disconnection from port foward.
